The Poet's Craft is published by Stewart Ferris. It is a studio for people who mean to finish poems, not a mood board for people who like the idea of them.
Stewart Ferris is the author of more than fifty books, a former publisher at Summersdale, and the writer of practical guides including How to be a Writer and How to Get Published. This site is his notebook for the particular craft of verse: where the line turns, which word carries the stress, and what the image will and will not say.
The craft pages teach the tools. The later pages point at the groups, magazines, presses and competitions that keep a finished poem in the world.
